Board of Education

The Deming Board of Education, whose members are elected in single-member districts, is charged with setting policies that govern the Deming Public Schools. The School Baord also hires the District's Superintendent to implement and enforce those policies. Board members serve four-year, staggered terms.

The School Board meets at least once per month to approve, add or revise policies such as the District Mission Statement, Proirities and Goals and to issue contracts and authorize payment of expenses. Board meetings also afford an opportunity to showcase student and staff achievements. Usually held on the third Thursday of each month, the meetings are open to the public and include time for public input.
