On Wednesday, October 18, Early College High School will have an adjusted schedule for each grade due to PSAT-NMSQT testing. Below are details about testing day:
• 10th & 11th Grade students will be testing and need to be at ECHS in person.
• 9th & 12th Grade students will be doing virtual learning and should stay home.
o All Juniors have downloaded the BlueBook app which has practice tests students should review. This is the qualifying test for Juniors for the National Merit Scholarships.
o All Sophomores will take the PSAT as a “pre-test” to help familiarize them with the test. This is a state requirement for all 10th graders this year.
o This test is also the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT). It is required for students to be eligible for a wide variety of scholarships both in NM and nationwide. The qualifying score this past year to be a semi-finalist in New Mexico was a 1360. (But this changes every year by a few points).
Early College High School will be moving to our new campus at 720 W. Buckeye. First day for students to attend school at our new facility will be on Monday, October 23. Below are details about our move:
• Thursday October 19 and Friday October 20 will be remote virtual learning days for all students. This will allow staff to setup the new campus for students. Students will have assignments on Canvas to work on from home.
• Busses will automatically bring students to the new campus on October 23. If you are dropping off your student, please park against the black iron fence in front of the school to drop off your student.
• All schedules will remain the same. Some college classes will continue to meet in person at the Learning Center after school and students will need to set up transportation.
We are excited to welcome students to our remodeled facility, and we appreciate community understanding and support during the transition.
