The 2026-2027 School Choice application window for existing students will open Wednesday, May 27 and will remain open through Tuesday, June 30 on the Deming Public Schools website. To access the application, visit the “
Registration > Enrolling Your Student” section and click on “26-27 School Choice Open Enrollment.”
If your student in grades K-5 wishes to attend a school outside of their assigned boundary school, would like to return to their boundary school, or if your family has moved outside of the boundary of your student’s currently enrolled school and you would like them to continue attending that school, a School Choice application must be submitted.
Students in grades 6-12 may also use the same School Choice application to apply for Virtual School enrollment.
Important:
An Existing Student Online Registration (OLR) application must be submitted prior to completing a School Choice application. If your OLR application has not yet been processed and approved, please contact your child’s boundary school. Any School Choice application submitted without a completed Existing Student OLR application on file will be denied.
Parents/guardians who have moved into a different school boundary, or who would like their student to return to their assigned boundary school, must select the “School Boundary” option when completing the School Choice application.
Additionally, if your child previously had an approved School Choice application but would now like to attend a different non-boundary school, a new School Choice application must be submitted.
Please note:
• Existing approved School Choice students from prior years do not need to reapply unless they are returning to their boundary school or requesting attendance at a different non-boundary school.
• Students approved for School Choice beginning in the 2026-2027 school year will be rolled back to their assigned boundary school at the end of each school year. Per current board policy, a new School Choice application must be submitted annually for continued attendance outside of the assigned boundary school.
• All new requests must be submitted through the School Choice application process.
