Deming Public Schools has been made aware of some social media posts that referred to shootings at schools. The district has been collaborating with local law enforcement to investigate and address the concerns from students and families. The Deming Police Department has investigated the posts, and their origin, and found them to reference past events, not credible, and pose no danger to our school community.
Deming Public Schools takes any reference to threats in our schools very seriously. We are committed to investigating all threat claims in our schools. We thank our law enforcement partners for their support and follow through in addressing this issue. While the threat is not believed to be credible, school staff, administration, and law enforcement are being extra vigilant to assure our students and community of their safety.
