Bilingual Elementary Teacher
Work Site: Ruben S. Torres Elementary School, Deming Public Schools, at 1910 8th Street Deming, NM 88030.
Duties: Teach bilingual 5th grade classes in both English and Spanish, including content in English and Spanish language art, math, science, and social studies. Perform weekly assessments of students and conduct interventions to support mastery. Perform diagnostic evaluations to identify students with limited English proficiency. Use appropriate standardized test instruments, informal diagnostics tasks, and observations to assess students. Develop instructional goals and instrumental objectives for each student selected for the bilingual program. Select instruction materials and media to achieve learning goals. As needed, participate in educational plan preparation for LEP children. Participate in curriculum planning and school programs. Prepare for classes and instruct students in accordance with schedules and plans. Create and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to maturity and interest of students. Implement policies regarding student conduct. Participate in professional development programs and establish effective communication with parents/guardians.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a closely related field; New Mexico Teaching License with Bilingual Endorsement; and Fluency in Spanish.

Deming Public Schools Non-Discrimination Statement (Title IX)
The following information is provided in response to 34 C.F.R. Part 106.8 of the 2020 Title IX Regulations, mandating notice of a nondiscrimination policy and adoption and publication of grievance procedures that provide for the prompt and equitable resolution of student and employee complaints.
