Before your child hops on the bus, take a few minutes to make sure everything is set. ✅ Bus routes and transportation information will be available approximately one week before the first day of school through the Campus Parent & Student Portal. ⚠️ Important Reminder: No paper bus passes will be issued. Bus drivers will use their official bus rosters to verify student transportation assignments.

Deming Public Schools Welcomes Eugene Lewis as Assistant Special Education Director

Deming Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Eugene Lewis as the district's new Assistant Special Education Director. Mr. Lewis brings more than a decade of experience serving Deming Public Schools, with extensive expertise in special education instruction, case management, and compliance. During the past several years, he has served as a Special Education IEP Facilitator and Teacher, supporting approximately 175 students across Deming High School, Mimbres Valley High School, and Early College High School. In this role, he has ensured compliance with state and federal special education laws while helping students with disabilities achieve meaningful educational success.

School Choice Application Update

Please note that all applications submitted for Bataan Elementary and Chaparral Elementary have been placed on a waitlist. Due to current enrollment, these applications will not be reviewed until after the first week of school, when enrollment numbers have stabilized and available space can be determined.

Deming Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Samuel Avalos as the district's new Director of Special Education. Mr. Avalos brings more than 25 years of experience in education, including over a decade in district-level special education leadership. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to ensuring students with disabilities receive high-quality educational services while maintaining compliance with state and federal special education requirements. He holds a Master of Arts in Educational Management and Development from New Mexico State University and is a New Mexico Level III-B Administrative License holder and Level III-A Instructional Leader in Special Education with a TESOL endorsement.
