Deming Public School’s Construction Department will be working on several projects starting in April and continuing throughout the year. Construction contractors/workers are required to have security clearance and wear ID badges while on school and district property. Below is a breakdown of the upcoming projects. Memorial Elementary, 1000 S. 10th St.
Construction at Memorial Elementary will start on
Friday, May 10 and continue through November 30, 2024. The construction project will include a roof replacement and upgrades to the HVAC system. Work will be coordinated to avoid impacting school drop-off and pick-up times in the morning and afternoon. There will be heavy equipment and increased traffic in the area. Please exercise caution.
Smith Administration Building, 310 W. Elm St.
Construction at Smith Administration Building will
start Saturday, June 1 and continue through September 30, 2024. The construction project will include removal of evaporative cooling units that will be replaced by HVAC units, as well as the instillation of security cameras and fencing. The Smith Gym will be closed from June 1 through July 30, 2024. Please avoid parking along S. Iron St. from June 1 through August 1, 2024. There will be heavy equipment and increased traffic in the area. Please exercise caution.
Columbus Elementary, 7450 Altura Road SE
Construction at Columbus Elementary will start
Thursday, April 25 through January 2025. The construction project will include the insulation of a new indoor HVAC system. The main impact of this project is in the interior of the building and accommodations will be made to minimize disruptions to the learning environment. Expect a substantial increase in traffic on NM HWY 11 and Altura Road for the duration of the project. Please exercise caution.
